Asian School of Business Management, Bhubaneswar which created a b-school history by becoming the first school to be set up in just 180 days from concept to opening of classes benchmarking itself against the best IIMs of the country is set to repeat its feat in Hyderabad. The Hon’ble Andhra Pradesh Governor His Excellency Narayan Datt Tiwari laid the foundation stone today at Hyderabad for a 20 acre campus of the school slated to come up racing against time. The Union Minister for Rural Development, Chandrasekar Sahu and Dr P K Patasani MP (Lok Sabha) from Bhubaneswar were present at the foundation stone laying ceremony at Jaganguda, Shamirpet. “We have pledged to open the classes in our proposed fully residential state of the art campus at Jagganguda exactly 180 days from the start just the same way we did at Bhubaneswar”, announced the Founder & Director of ASBM Prof. Biswajeet Pattanayak. Further he said ASBM is different that the run-of-the-mill schools for its high sectoral focus in offering the most applied management Programme in emerging areas.
The AP Governor, N D Tiwari stated that the surging youth power of India is a great opportunity for the country to emerge as a major force in the world provided we are able to give high quality education to youth. India is already a big player in the emerging new world order. While Chinese miracle under Deng Xioping is being acknowledged by the world, it was done by a politburo comprising few while Indian achievement is based on democracy with complete people participation which will have a long lasting value, he observed.
According to the Governor examples like that of ASBM has to be repeated everywhere to provide a strong base for India as in the emerging new world order, Russia with Siberia and Brazil along with India would be where a lot would happen in future. According to him true value management has to be taught in Indian campuses like the powerful strategy of Napoleon.
While appreciating ASBM as a front runner quality management institution, the Governor felt that it should open branches at other major cities and in other Asian countries to spread Indian management ethos. True to its name ASBM should emerge as a truly Asian school of business he said. The union minister for Rural development Chandra Sekhar Sahu said that new areas of management are emerging to give a new direction and career option to the Indian youth particularly those from the rural areas. Globalization has opened new frontiers and venues like retail, logistics, supply chain, infrastructure development, construction management etc at the same time. He expressed satisfaction that ASBM has already emerged as a national brand with sectoral focus.
Prof. P K Patasani, Member of Parliament from Bhubaneswar speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts of ASBM as a true national management school in spreading the quality and contemporary education.
