Looking at India’s consistent business growth amidst tough times of recession it’s no wonder that the management graduates have emerged as beckons of hope, said noted administrator and former Director of International Civil Aviation Authority, Montreal, Shri Vivek Pattanayak while inaugurating the III National Markfest, organized by ace B-School ASBM. Acknowledging the paramount contribution of Asian School of Business Management for setting it as a fore-runner in simulated learning practices inherited from the aviation and power sector, Shri Pattanayak expressed strong conviction that the institution has emerged as a global centre of excellence by dint of these unique cutting edge success factors. Appreciating the innovative and simulated learning ambience of Markfest; the MD of AES-India Ltd. Shri Vivek Biswal said that management students should imbibe at present the need for choosing the right destination and incessantly chase their dream to reach that destination. He said ASBM’s focus on emphasizing the growing significance of ethical imperatives in business propositions have inspired its action leaders to focus on moral marketing and bring remarkable difference in the way of looking at service sectors. Overwhelmed by novel marketing innovations like ‘Bandhan’the one stop marriage hub and ‘Clean and Steam’ the perfect dress maintenance solutions demonstrated at Markfest Shri Biswal said that his company will sponsor two ASBM students’ visit to some of these interesting ethical and value based service innovations promoted through global venture. Addressing the delegates of Markfest coming from various parts of the country, the HR Head of Posco-India, Dr.S.K.Mohapatra said that in a growing market economy such B-School innovations are indications of future prosperity. Praising the highly professional curriculum and world class learning environment of ASBM, Shri Mohapatra pointed out that creative events like Markfest have set the stage for converting this B-School in to an International Management University. Analyzing the comparative growth cycle of global varsities, Sri Mohapatra said ASBM’s innovations will enable management professionals to survive the intense competition through which the present industry scenario is passing. Hinting about the need for such simulated events the Founder Director of ASBM, Prof.Biswajeet Pattanayak said innovative ideas those sound the craziest also pave path for future transformations. He highlighted that being a three year old institution; ASBM has promoted this Festival right from its inception thereby spearheading indomitable creativity of budding mangers. In this two day long festival competitions were held in the categories of product, pricing, promotion, sales & distribution, advertising and display management. The Champion team XIMB,Bhubaneswar bagged the trophy and cash award of Rs.30, 000 sponsored by Union Bank of India while the Runner up ASBM,Bhubaneswar got trophy and cash award of Rs.20, 000 sponsored by HCL.Director of IIIT, Prof.Gopalkrishna Nayak & Group HR Head of Country Club India Mr. Parameswar Dwivedy gave away the trophy and cash awards to the winning teams in a glittering valedictory ceremony. Congratulating the participating teams Prof.Nayak said that focus on positive implications of such creative innovations will empower ASBM’s students with the winning mantra for corporate endeavours. Shri Dwivedy lauded the efforts of ASBM in organizing such magnificent event for showcasing the creativity of marketing genius and said such efforts will provide a unique platform to the new age management professionals in renewing their perspectives. The delegates and guests present in the valedictory ceremony affirmed their conviction on ASBM’s pertinent initiative in driving such mega national event. Dean of ASBM Prof.Kalyan Shankar Ray, Conveners Prof. Balaram Swamy, Prof. Rohit Prashar, Prof.Jayalakshmi Gopalakrishnan and Prof. B.N.Swar were present. The highlights of the festival were skits, theme presentations and creativity contest co-hosted by Big 92.7 FM.Times of India & Business Standard were media partners for the event
