A Flagship Forum for Climate Leadership
The Odisha Conference of Youth (OCOY) stands as the flagship initiative of the Youth4Water Plus campaign. Now in its dynamic third edition, OCOY serves as a unique, youth-led platform spearheading leadership development, simulating policy negotiations, and catalysing practical environmental projects. Guided and supported by UNICEF Odisha and a robust network of civil society partners, OCOY has established an impressive legacy: over the past two years, the conference has seen engagement from more than 50 experts and partners globally, fostered 40+ on-ground SDG-aligned actions, and enabled youth representation at high-profile events such as the UN Water and FAO Conferences, COP29, and COP30.
Empowering Diverse Young Voices
OCOY 3.0 provides a major opportunity for 150 selected youth, aged 18 to 35, with particular emphasis on inclusivity for tribal and disabled young people. The conference will feature hands-on workshops, immersive storytelling sessions, cultural activities, and guided field visits. Participants will participate in collaborative team tasks and thematic taskforces, culminating in the highly anticipated Youth Parliament and formal presentation of the OCOY Youth Statement for Climate Action.
Themes Driving Change
This year’s OCOY focuses on three pivotal themes:
-
Climate Education for a Sustainable Future
-
Green Entrepreneurship and Nature-Based Solutions
-
Climate Resilience: Securing Water and Nutrition for Communities
Through these topics, delegates will learn not just to discuss climate challenges, but to design and enact real-world solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
World-Class Facilities and Support
All selected participants will benefit from complimentary accommodation, meals, and local travel, ensuring full engagement throughout the event. ASBM University, Odisha’s leading management institution, provides a secure, well-equipped residential venue and an interactive learning environment, further reaffirming its commitment to empowering the next generation of climate leaders.
