Dr. Diptimayee Samal has earned Ph.D. degree in Economics from Berhampur University for her research work, Health Expenditure, Outcome and Economic Growth in India: An Inter-State Analysis. Earlier, she was awarded MA degree by Rama Devi Women’s University and M.Phil. by Fakir Mohan University – both in Economics.
She has published seven research papers in reputed journals and has presented twenty two research papers in national and international conferences. Some of her papers have also been published as book chapters.
Dr. Samal has successfully completed a number of training programmes, such as, an 8-day High-End Workshop on Large Scale Survey Data Analysis conducted by Banaras Hindu University (BHU, Varanasi), a 5-day Workshop on Panel Data Econometrics Using STATA: Application to Health and Nutrition by NIT – Rourkela, a 7-day Certificate Programme on Methods of Social Science Research by ASBM University, a 6-day Workshop on Research Methodology: Tools and Practices by Berhampur University, and a training programme on Gender Sensitization by Fakir Mohan University.
She has taught in a graduate college. She likes technology-driven teaching, and uses business strategy games and simulation exercises in her classroom.
Areas of Academic Interest: Health Economics, Economic Growth, Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, Economics of Education, Gender Issues, and Climate Change.
